Foodie Friday: Five Guys

I might have said recently that I like Mooyah Burger and Fries better than Five Guys, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy Five Guys.  It is still a top 2 or 3 dinner choice for our family.

The experience here is very similar to a Five Guys back home.  You order your base burger (we order the little because the regular is huge) and choose your toppings.  There is, however, no bacon burger or bacon cheeseburger option here.  They also have the sign that advertises where their potatoes came from, but here they tend to be from the Netherlands rather than Idaho.  They cook with peanut oil which isn't common here.  They still have their peanuts in shells you can munch on while you wait for your food.  We still get unlimited refills.  I just love American restaurants here and my free refills!

E has chosen Five Guys twice to take Stephen on their one-on-one dates.  Stephen always gets the better options.  I tend to get the McDonald's and Papa John's dinner requests.  Not cool, kids.  Not cool!  I did take the boys last time Stephen was out of town.  It was during Ramadan.  They let us order early, but we still had to wait to get and eat our food.
E on his first date trip munching on the fries.
After waiting for the call to prayer signaling that we could eat dinner, the boys really dug in!  Enjoying their hot dogs and peanuts.
The boys love to order hot dogs when go.  J insists on getting peanuts first stop.  We then spend the meal reminding the boys to eat the food we ordered.  It's not that I mind them eating the fries, but the meal can take forever!  We always order french fries.  Stephen watched last time he went at how they serve fries.  They fill the cup then dump an even larger scoop of fries straight into the bag.  I order a small cheeseburger with various toppings and get it lettuce wrapped.  It may be messy, but it is good!
Yummy lettuce wrapped burger, fries, and free refill soda.
Yum, I'm getting hungry!  So if you see us in the Muscat Grand Mall near dinner time, expect that we are heading to or from Five Guys.  We'll meet you there if you'd like.
