Foodie Friday: Shake Shack

Another delicious American original burger joint to be found here in Oman is Shake Shack.  There is one in Muscat City Center.  We may or may not have invented a reason to go to Muscat City Center so that we could try out Shake Shack since MCC isn't really all that close to us.
2 burgers, 3 orders of fries, and a soda
When we went, it was actually during Ramadan.  We saw a movie (Aladdin), walked around the mall (they have a Toys R Us), then headed to Shake Shack once it was time to eat.  Some notes:  Aladdin was amazing!  Watching a movie during Ramadan isn't as much fun because you can't order popcorn or a drink.  Yes, there are Toys R Us stores all over the world.  Only the US branches went bankrupt. The toy prices in Toys R Us were pretty much the same as at any other toy store over here:  high.

I had eaten at a Shake Shack once before.  We ate at one outside the Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C. as we waited for the gates for the game to open.  This was back in 2017 during our epic baseball road trip to Virginia for Stephen's Grandma's 90th birthday.  I remember thinking of Shake Shack the food was really good, but the drinks were ridiculous.  We paid $4 per soda there!  If I had known the price, we wouldn't have ordered sodas.  The other issue is that they use small cups, and you have to go to the counter to get a refill.  I remember they were busy at the time, so it took forever.  This wasn't a Chick-fil-A.

The prices at Shake Shack Oman seemed reasonable.  Their menu is the same as state side with the exception of no beer/wine, no dog treats, and no pork bacon.  As opposed to the D.C. area, I paid a completely reasonable price for my soda, and I was able to get refills (not a guarantee here).  We ordered burgers, fries, and the boys ordered hot dogs.  One of the dogs was a cheese dog.  There was cheese everywhere, and it was delicious!  Their crinkle cut fries were very good and crispy.  As for drinks, each boy chose a flavored lemonade and seemed to really enjoy their choice.
J with his delicious but messy cheese dog.
All-in-all, it was a very good burger meal.  The problem is that there are lots of good burger joints here both local and not so local.  Since MCC isn't in our neck of the woods, we're not likely to hit up Shake Shack much.  But if that is what you're craving, then it won't disappoint.
