“What is a weekend?”

If you’re not familiar with that quote, then you never watched Downton Abbey.  I’ve been watching a lot of it lately because I have the entire series on my phone.  Without TV, it’s a good way to relax and grab some time for myself.

In the show, the Dowager Countess asks this question of Matthew Crawley when he refers to learning about Downton on the weekends seeing as he’s a lawyer during the week.  Oh how middle class of him.  Lol.
Friday at the beach

I’ve had a different perspective on this question since moving.  In the Middle East, weekends are Fridays and Saturdays.  Friday we went to the beach and a store (we’ve gone to a store every day).  It was fairly quiet out and about.  Friday is their holy day.  Saturdays are just like Saturdays in the US.  Everyone was out and about.  The mall was crowded.  Seeing as many schools were starting back the next day, I shouldn’t have been surprised.  Sundays are the start of the work week.  No better way to get into the swing of things then spend our first Sunday with meetings at the boys’ new school and Stephen heading into work.  He’d work from home on a day like today with things to do if only we had internet… hopefully it can get hooked up sooner rather than later.
View of Muscat from the beach
Off in the distance, there is a rocky island that is obscured by dust.
Saturday at the park

Playing at Funtizmo while it was rather hot outside.
